As you've probably read in my small sidebar introduction to myself, my name is Erika Elise, and I'm a Canadian college student, currently studying Pre-Health Sciences. I will hopefully be Med School or post-grad bound in a few years, though. I currently live in a small town in Ontario, with my boyfriend, his parents, his four brothers, our two cats and three dogs!
I have always had a strong hold and passion for the medical field, which has translated to my academic and career goals. It has also made me a passionate volunteer and supporter. I am a strong supporter of a variety of causes, ranging from cancer research to mental health and invisible and chronic illness awareness, and transgender and general LGBT+ rights to all ranges of inclusion. I am a strong and loud supporter, so don't be surprised to see a few posts featuring important information for awareness days, weeks, months or campaigns.
I also have some personal connections to a few of those issues. My younger brother is transgender, and we have several other LGBT+ family members too. I personally live with chronic illness, and it really affects my life as a whole. I am currently on the journey of finding actual diagnosis for my problems, beyond what I already have. I am currently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and mild-to-moderate clinic depression. I am not ashamed of my illness, and I will be sharing some of what I go through because of it.
My hobbies include DIYing, gardening, painting my nails, practicing makeup application, and writing. Besides my main college program, I am also taking an additional upgrading course. Outside of all school and this blog, I spend a lot of my time at the gym, both working out and swimming; visiting a few close friends and their kittens; and playing a tourist as I check out tons of places near and far, from natural attractions to different restaurants.
I recently joined the beauty scene and after binge watching tons of videos and reading posts from other bloggers, I thought I'd take the chance to combine the things I love through writing. I've created this blog to use my learning experiences as a fun approach to beauty, DIY and so much more. In addition to that, I'll be sharing reviews of products, with a special emphasis on affordable products, and those that are great for people who have sensitive skin, like me!
